There is no better way to experience the Salish Sea than by sailing.  Aboard Makani, our 37' cruising yacht, with your experienced crew to guide you to the best wildlife spots, and quiet secluded anchorages, hiking, and beaches, you can totally unwind and relax.  No matter if this is your first time sailing or you are an experienced sailor, captain Alan will let you be as involved or relaxed as you wish.  While Makani may not be a giant, posh, sailing condo, she is a comfortable cruising yacht, and of a size and type that most people might expect to cruise on by themselves.  This intimate experience with the boat, wind and water, will put you in touch with nature.  

    The itinerary will be customized by your interests, weather, tides, and also by whale sightings if that is on your priority scale.  We may explore one of several lighthouses, or beach comb on the beautiful sandstone shores of Sucia island or forest bathe in the grand beauty of Cypress islands miles of trails.  

   When sailing food is important part of the experience.  We love to cook local organic healthy food. In season we may even go crabbing for a fresh seafood dinner.  No fine resturanunt can compete with the waterfront dining experience of a hot meal on the deck of sailboat in a quiet cove at sunset.  Morning coffee with seals, herons, and otters will put your tranquility scale on a new level.   And a hot lunch served under sail as Makani transports you through paradise is a dream come true.  

   Be sure to write us with any questions you may have about your trip, we will be glad to help you out.  Makani is best suited to one cruising family or two couples who enjoy traveling together and don't mind sharing a bathroom.  The boat sleeps 7 but we prefer to give everyone elbow room.
